Past
Our building was originally constructed as a motel to give weary travelers a place to rest in 1955. Joseph and Emma Koster were the original owners of the motel. In the summer of 1982 Pastor Donald Mosley, Sr. moved with his family to the Jasper/Greenwood area after he had graduated from Tennessee Temple University. He rented the old motel for Church services in July and held the first worship service inside on September 12, 1982. On September 12, 1983, the congregation bought the building. Pastor Mosley dedicated the front addition enclosing the original entrances to the motel rooms on July 5, 1987. Pastor Mosely retired from the ministry in February of 2014. Pastor Tom Coble was called to be pastor in the summer of 2014. On September 2, 2018, Mark Walker was called to be pastor at Open Door Baptist Church.
Future
The church currently sits on 11 acres of land with both wide open space, woodland nature trails, and a pond. We are so excited to see what God will do with it!
